HIPOA - Student Initiative for Political Discourse

What's HIPOA?

HIPOA is short for "Hochschulinitiative für Politischen Austausch" - in English "Student Initiative for Political Discourse". We are a relatively new student group and would like to give you an idea of what we would like to stand for.

Ideas and goals

This group aims to give students at FH Erfurt the opportunity to speak openly with each other about poltical and society issues. 

Our goals are:

· to keep ourselves and others informed about political and social developments

· to develop creative, thought-provoking ideas and awareness-raising campaigns

· to combat discriminatory and anti-democratic influences

Fun Facts

In Samoan, "Hipoa" is the word for hippopotamus, which is also our mascot (Samoa = independent island state in Polynesia, Pacific). In Finnish, the word "hipoa" means to touch or connect.
